Student Success
The Student Success Coordinator supports students while they are enrolled in Social Circle City Schools and following graduation by providing a wide range of programs, including experiences for all students and individualized support.
-
Basic Needs: We connect students with what they need to get to school, attend class, and succeed. We partner with local nonprofits, businesses, and the community to provide food, school supplies, school-appropriate clothing, and medical, dental, and vision support. Some examples of current programs include Kindness Closet and school supply distribution.
-
Success Motivation: Our Coordinator works one-on-one with students to help them set, monitor, and meet their goals. Graduation is achieved one goal at a time by focusing on attendance, behavior, course performance, and their plans for the future.
-
Workforce Preparation: The Walton Works Initiative recognizes the workforce challenges in our community and is a partnership among our school systems, the Development Authority of Walton County, and other organizations. Walton Works provides programs that strengthen our local workforce by helping students explore careers and develop employability skills.
-
Community Engagement: The Coordinator seeks to connect the community (civic groups, local businesses, faith-based organizations) and the school by sponsoring events, participating in Teacher Appreciation Week, and providing supplies and donations for our basic needs programs. If you are interested in connecting with us, please contact us here!
-
Mentoring Program: We connect students with mentors to support their success. These students may include REACH scholars or any student who would benefit from the support.
-
Experiential Learning: The Coordinator coordinates learning outside the classroom by organizing industry tours, Junior Achievement, and job fairs.
